Jeffrey R. Levenson, MD PA

Dr. Levenson received his Medical Doctor degree from St. George’s University in 1984. He then completed Internal medicine training at St John Hospital in Detroit, MI, going on to complete a fellowship in Infectious Disease at the Medical College of Georgia in 1991. He has been practicing in the Tampa Bay area since 1992.

N. Denisse Balcacer, MD

Dr. Balcacer received her Medical Doctor degree from Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo in 2003. Completed her Internal Medicine training at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT, in 2008 and a fellowship in Infectious Disease in 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital in NY. She has been practicing medicine at Advanced Bay Area Medical Associates since 2010.

She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease, a Fellow of The Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA), and active member of American Medical Association. She is currently affiliated with Largo Medical Center, Northside Hospital and Saint Petersburg General Hospital, where she serves as Champion Physician of ASP and Faculty member of the graduate medical education.

Peggi Lalor, APRN assists with Internal Medicine

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

Margaret (Peggi) Lalor, APRN

Peggi began nursing at the age of 15 and was a licensed practical nurse upon graduating high school in New York in 1981. She continued to pursue her medical career, obtaining an Associates RN degree from Tacoma Community College in 1990, a BSN from University of South Florida in 2001, and a MS as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from Ball State University in 2007 . She has been sharing her wealth of skills and experience with our practice since 2015.

Prior to joining our practice, Peggi worked 7 years for a Physician in St Petersburg practicing Cardiology and Internal Medicine. Having autonomous practice privileges, she currently covers the nursing homes, ALFs and rehabs for the practice. She works out of the Seminole office in collaboration with Dr. Jeffrey Levenson Internal Medicine/Infectious Disease.

In 2018, Peggi retired from the United States Air Force Reserves where she held the rank of Lt Colonial. She was stationed out of MacDill AFB in Tampa, working as Chief of Medical Readiness for the 927th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron (ASTS) and obtained her Masters in Military Science in 2011.

Evan Thomas, PA-C

Evan earned his B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida in 2013. Focused on building a career helping people, he went on to earn his M.S. in Medical Sciences from USF in 2014. He then earned his M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies from NOVA Orlando in 2021. He has been an invaluable member of our practitioner team since May of 2022.
